Church Ministry Coordinator Responsibilities


Each Love INC partner church has at least one Church Ministry Coordinator (CMC). Larger churches need 2 or more. Each church should have a Prayer Coordinator also in order that these two areas help to keep Love INC and the needs of our community before their congregation.

The CMC has a strategic and important role in mobilizing their church to reach out to the community.

  • Call all the volunteers on the Talent Tithe to let them know that you will usually be the one to contact them about opportunities. Thank them for being willing to help change lives. Show interest and get to know them. All this information helps you motivate them in a proper way to be involved and potentially get others involved. You can share your heart with them also. Make sure it is a good time to chat for a few minutes.

  • ASK Questions
    What do they like to do? Do they understand how Love INC works?
    What motivates them? Do they have any questions?
    Have they ever helped the poor before?
    Do they have friends with talents who might also be interested in volunteering?
    Are they part of a small group or other organization that might want to do a group project?
    Review the activities they have signed up for. How often would they really like to serve?
    Do they have a burden or vision to help a certain group of people? This is key to outreach programs being developed in your church.

  • Keep your church, pastor(s) and secretaries up-to-date on Love INC status and opportunities.

    1. Fill out and return Talent Tithe summary.
    2. Give your pastor a list of all those who have volunteered to make sure that everyone is appropriate. (You will also help with this when you get to know the people better).
    3. Call the secretary about bulletin spots or inserts with updates.
    4. Greet people at the door or at a hospitality room, hand out Love INC Newsletters when available, develop a Love INC or outreach bulletin board, etc.
    5. If you can check in with our office every week by phone or e-mail this will help.
    6. Circulate and collect the Talent Tithe to those who missed the presentation at your church.
    7. Hand out a “Helping Hints for Volunteers” sheet to all volunteers if possible. (If you have a large church you may want to coordinate a Volunteer Training Session.)
    8. Call volunteers to meet specific needs and instruct them to call you after the task is complete so you may report it to Love INC.
    9. Share needs, success stories and ideas with Love INC.
    10. Do a Talent Tithe presentation or announcement on a regular basis.
    11. Contact Love INC with potential church program development for our data- base to stay current. Work with your pastors to develop vision for the entire church to do outreach.

    Because training is involved, Love INC of the Valley asks for a one-year commitment if at all possible.
